SALT LAKE CITY – (January 15, 2024) Sorenson, a leading provider of inclusive communication services for Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and diverse language communities around the world, today announced a partnership with The Ops Nest, a learning community for event professionals. The community provides a variety of resources and services to its members, including training, networking opportunities, and access to industry experts. The partnership will help organisers create a sense of belonging for attendees at all events.
“We are excited to partner with The Ops Nest to make events more inclusive and accessible,” said Matthew King, General Manager of Sorenson UK. “Together, we can help event organisers create events that are truly welcoming to everyone.”
The Ops Nest members regularly host industry content that is available to all for free and which will, through the partnership with Sorenson, be accessible to deaf and hard-of-hearing attendees through BSL interpretation.
“We are committed to learning how to make events more inclusive and accessible for everyone,” said Lou Kiwanuka, CEO of Ops Nest. “This partnership with Sorenson has already enabled us to understand elements of recording interpretation effectively and opened our eyes to how our events have excluded many in the past. Working with Sorenson has enabled us to take iterative steps towards our goal of creating inclusive events.
The partnership between Sorenson and The Ops Nest is a testament to the growing importance of accessibility in the events industry. By working together, these two organisations are helping to make events more inclusive and welcoming for all attendees.
